How Do I Tell if My Gems Are Real or a Simulant?

• Clean your stone before testing - grease and other dirt can give inaccurate test results
• Touch the tester's probe to the surface of the stone - if it is a real diamond, the LED lights will turn red and the tester will beep 3 times
• If the stone is a diamond simulant or other metal the lights will be yellow or green or not light at all [depending on the type of stone being tested]

The diamond tester also has an ultra violet light function used to test the fluorescent reaction of stones.
